MISSION

Education is core to personal development and growth, yet for so many of our youth, access is limited. UNLAD - the Tagalog word that means progress, development or growth - was founded with a mission to provide our youth with access to educational opportunities that would otherwise not be within their reach. These opportunities come in the form of basic elementary, high-school and college education; as well as from extracurricular programs – learning opportunities that broaden and enrich a young person’s perspective and imagination, enabling him/her/them to grow and live fulfilling, rewarding and sustainable lives.

Vision

Our vision is to provide access to educational opportunities, enabling our youth to grow and live fulfilling, rewarding and sustainable lives.

GOALS

  • Provide access to basic elementary, high-school or trade/college education by supporting needs-based scholarships.

  • Provide access to extracurricular programs in elementary schools, initially focusing on athletic and artistic programs.

  • Promote physical, mental and financial health and well-being within the programs and the community.

  • Provide access to cross-cultural learning exchanges between the USA and the Philippines.

STRATEGIES

  • Partner and collaborate with educators, local government, community leaders, civic organizations, NGOs and parents for program development and implementation.

  • Partner with subject matter experts and thought leaders, creating in-residency programs to optimize immersion and engagement.

  • Ensure that donations directly benefit the youth and their access to educational opportunities.

  • Incorporate an annual event to motivate and inspire continuous growth and accountability to the mission.
